iPad 3 Vs iPad 2, What's Different?

We know everything about iPad 3 but the name. After Wednesday's hour-plus-long launch event in San Francisco, Apple CEO Tim Cookies and team unveiled details about the company's new tablet, simply calling it the "new iPad" throughout. In the weeks and days leading up to today's event, there was much talk about whether the next-gen iPad would be called the iPad HD or the iPad 3. Maybe we could only know the final name until March 16, when iPad 3 released in U.S. and other 9 countries.

The coming iPad will cost the same as the iPad 2 -- from $499 to $829 based on storage capacity and Wi-Fi capacity. Let's take a look at what's new in iPad 3 compares to iPad 2.

"It is amazing," Apple CEO Tim Cook said at a San Francisco unveiling. "We've taken it to a whole new level, and we are redefining the category that Apple created with the original iPad." Well, the following iPad 3 vs. iPad 2 specifications may tell you whether iPad 3 is worth waiting for.

Processor: Apple's next-gen A5X dual-core processor, based on ARM design, brings high performance, low power consumption and quad-core graphics.

Inadequate multimedia support: As usual, iPad 3 supports MP4 (H.264, MPEG-4 video codec) and MOV (H.264, MPEG-4 video codec) video formats and no PowerPoint support, you will need video converter or PowerPoint to iPad converter if you want to watch other videos, DVD movies and PowerPoint presentations on iPad 3.

When Will the iPad 3 See the Light of Day?

It's hard to believe but the iPad 2 has only been released for a year. It seems like it's been with us forever already. Everyone's been talking about it since the day it was released.

Even today, everyone is still drooling over the iPad 2. More and more apps are getting released each day and more and more people sign up for an Apple ID. Apple's hold on the tablet market is tremendous. It seems like even if Apple does release the iPad 3, the iPad 2 will continue to sell well into next year. In fact, an iPad that has been refurbished or just well taken care of can have a resale value of at least $300! That's an impressive price.

If you don't remember, Steve Jobs introduced the iPad 2 to the world back in March 2011. Now, people are speculating that the iPad 3 is coming in March, to coincide with the first anniversary of the iPad 2.

There are many reports that say the iPad 3 will arrive in March. The news website "allthingsd" reasons that since Apple still isn't holding an event this February, expect that there will be something in March. Here's what they had to report on the matter:

"Sources say the company has chosen the first week in March to debut the successor to the iPad 2, and will do so at one of its trademark special events. The event will be held in San Francisco, presumably at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Apple's preferred location for big announcements like these."

There are plenty of rumored features of the iPad 3. One of the most notable rumors is that the tablet will feature a screen all the way to the edge. Other speculations to be included on the iPad 3 are a sharper screen resolution with Retina Display, 4G speeds, NFC connection and 3D features.

Will 2012 be the year of the iPad 3? We can only wait and see what Apple has to say. The March event might even be delayed, as the company has recently been under a lot of fire for their labor practices. When the New York Times reported the harsh working environments of Foxconn employees in China, the world took notice. CNN even interviewed an 18 year old employee, describing the working conditions there.

One group even campaigned against the cruel business practices of Apple. It garnered at least 300,000 signatures. Because of tremendous pressure, Apple's current CEO, Tim Cook took action against these allegations.

He said that he would coordinate with the FLA to conduct audits on their Foxconn suppliers. This will show transparency for Apple, because they're famously known for being a secretive company. We'll see an update in the coming weeks regarding this matter.

If you're waiting for the iPad 3, then it's just around the corner. If everyone's hunch is right, then Apple will announce something big in the following months. Expect the world to change again this year.

Information On The Apple iPad 3

If you want to believe the insiders, the iPad 3 plans to take the tablet experience to a whole new level. Apple usually releases an iOS device roughly a year after its predecessor, but several rumors have suggested we may see a third-generation iPad launch sometime this fall.

Both the iPad and iPad 2 were introduced early in the spring and shipped around the end of March. That places the iPad 3 release date on track for around March 2012, unless something goes wrong, and from previous Apple releases, you know things are never set in stone. The arrival of the iPhone 4S this October, after years of summer iPhone launches, demonstrated that things can in fact go wrong with Apple's annual upgrade calendar.

iOS 5.5: The iPad 3 will have a revised version of the current iOS 5 operating system.

Screen: Rumors here and there have Apple's inability to get the iPad 3 up to retina display quality as the reason why the device hasn't arrived yet as of late 2011. Whether it can be pulled off by March 2012 is anyone's guess. The new MacBooks that were released this year included the Thunderbolt port which helps assist data transfer at an impressive speed. Also, given the fact that Apple doesn't seem to be interested in the USB slot anymore, you might just see a Thunderbolt port as one of the new iPad 3 features.

One of the most eagerly anticipated iPad 3 features is the retina display. It was highly awaited when the iPad 2 was about to be launched, but much to the user's disappointment, it wasn't introduced in that release. So, it is highly likely that one of the new iPad 3 specs will be the inclusion of the retina display.

Recently, there has been some talk doing the rounds regarding an HD display being introduced in the iPad 3. There also has been some talk that an iPad 2HD will be introduced this year, and the iPad 3 in the first half of the 2012. One of the disappointing aspects of the iPad 2 was its camera and it is expected that the new iPad 3 will feature a much better camera and it is expected to include a flash for those darker moments.

Other specs: The iPad 2 marked the debut of the dual core A5 processor, which has since also found its way into the iPhone 4S. The year before, the iPad 1 marked the debut of the A4 processor. The safe-ish bet has the quad core A6 debuting in the iPad 3, giving the new tablet a level of computing speed which will finally begin to rival the horsepower found in desktop and laptop computers, bringing the late Steve Jobs' vision of tablets eclipsing home computers one step closer to reality.

Carriers and colors: Apple finally managed to deliver a single device in the iPhone 4S which can talk to all AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon networks. The iPad 3 could do the same, eliminating the current carrier-segregated 3G models which has been a problem in the past. That should open the door for Apple to offer the iPad 3 in more colors than merely the boring white and black.

Apple's most recent event, the iPhone 4S and iOS 5 launch, was hosted by new Apple CEO Tim Cook along with longtime Apple marketing honcho Phil Schiller. There was hardly a mention of Jobs, whom the world later learned was living out the last full day of his life.

No Siri on iPad 3?!

The Apple fanatics are crazy waiting for news regarding the iPad 3's release. And since most sites and tech experts believe that it will be unveiled on March 7 of this year, more and more iPad users want to sell iPad 2 for the brilliance of iPad 3. Reports have surfaced that the iPad 3 will be carrying around a fabulous Retina Display with dual LED lights that will make it brighter and better than ever. It is also rumored to have an A6 processor with iOS 5.1 as the main operating system. The five to eight megapixel real camera and HD front camera also has iPad users throwing their fists in the air for FaceTime. One feature that almost all iPad users are dying to get their hands on is Siri. But it seems that her iPad 3 debut faces numerous debates and unlikeliness.

It must have Siri. It just won't work without Siri.

Despite the fact that the rumor mills have contained reports about Siri coming to life through the iPad 3, experts from the Cultofmac.com think that it's not likely to happen. While most Apple users think that baking in Siri for iPad 3 and iPhone 5 is the most logical thing to do after iPhone 4S, the critics say that one of the reasons Siri may not be in the iPad 3 is because it is dependent on the Internet. For Siri to work successfully, you must know that the personal assistant in your iPhone 4S is not just an app, it is Apple's Internet based service that processes your voice and obeys specific commands from you. And since the iPad and the iPod Touch are two devices that have an unreliable Internet connection, it would be unlikely for Apple to add Siri.

It is important to note that while Siri had been well received when it was unveiled with the iPhone 4S, it encountered numerous problems that sent criticisms flying around. Because Siri's servers are based in the United States, iPhone 4S users in other parts of the world experienced trouble accessing Siri's services. And if your iPhone does not have an Internet connection, Siri will simply be unavailable and will tell you to connect to the Internet. Since the iPad devices only have Wi-fi for Internet connection, data usage may simply not be possible. This is because Apple is a tech giant that does not believe in unreliable implementation of technology. Implementing Siri will only put them down.

So why is it that the iPad 3 is set to have Safari, YouTube, Mail and App Store (all Internet dependent as well) but can't support Siri? That's because Siri is considered a core service that is included in the iOS 5 which is why it can be accessed through a long press, not a tap in the screen like the usual applications. If Apple would actually include 3G, 4G or LTE in the iPad 3, then Siri will be a probability for the device provided the user is willing to shell out some cash for the data usage. To do that, you might have to sell iPad 2.

Until Apple releases the iPad 3, rumors will continue to be rumors. Now, if you really want the iPad 3 with or without Siri, then sell iPad 2 at Cashforipads.com and get a good deal today.

What Is New On The iPad 3?

iPad 3, the newest tablet Apple has launched in the market showcases more hardware power rather than on design innovation. Described by Apple itself, iPad 3 is not a revolutionary development but rather "revolutionary" - a word still boggling the public's minds.

This latest tablet installment from Apple is not thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the iPad 2. IPad 3 is 50g heavier and 0.6mm thicker than iPad2. However, it has one glaring edge. A very visible superiority among the other tablets there is to date - its SCREEN. Its 9.7-inch display is highly capable of showing 3.1 million pixels at 264ppi and what's more? The resolution! Ipad 3 Retina Display offers 2048x1536, leaving out its competitors which just have a 1280x800 resolution. Unlike the other tablets, you can't spot a pixilated image. You can compare for yourself if you find it unbelievable. And an add-on to its high definition power, HD video is powered to show 1080p, making this new iPad's iTunes full HD movie catalogue.

Due to Apple Retina on iPad 3 which is mainly responsible for its top-notch display, this tablet requires a much powerful processor and being addressed with a much capable dual core processor, the A5X with a quad core GPU. With this processing power, swiping through the tablet's menu and apps had become smoother than ever. And if you are a gamer, it surely does give you a much better gaming experience.

And for this tablet's camera feature, iPad 3 only boast an aperture of f/2.4. Its resolution capability is not extraordinary at all, only having 5mp rather than the usual 8. However, iPad 3 video capturing is promising with its 30 frame per second ability.

Ipad 3 connectivity gives another surprise to everyone. It has a 4G network and the HSPA+. The latter which is almost close to 4G promises a max download speed of 21Mbps -readying the device for the connectivity innovation expected anytime soon now like the HSPA upgrade in some countries that will feature a 42Mbps connectivity.

Even with a much powerful capability, iPad 3 shares almost the same battery edge with its predecessor, same having a 10-hours WiFi surfing, nine hours on mobile network, and ten hours music or video playing.

And for the last part of this review, due to the high-res feature of iPad3, it is expected that its 64GB models might have more sales than its 16GB for high-res features also comes in with heavy files. No one wants to ran-out of memory space that easily.

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Tablet Vs iPad3

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Tablet has emerged as a new mobile tablet that is great for productivity due to it's ability to transform from a powerful tablet to a light-weight and mobile laptop.

The Transformer tablet is one that can be used up to 10 hours without a charge and then another 6-8 hours once it's plugged into the dock keyboard which has it's own battery power.

Another interesting and excellent feature is that it is Adobe Flash ready, has a MicroSD card and also has an HDMI port for more functionality and accessibility as opposed to the iPad 2 and possibly the iPad 3.

The platform is run on Google's android software and is primed for an "Ice Cream Sandwich" update from the "Honeycomb" that it's currently running. This system has been touted as a more flexible and robust system than the ever popular king of mobile software proprietary iOS.

The real question is: Is the Android based Asus Eee Transformer tablet one that will overtake the iPad 2 or iPad 3?

This is very subjective in that the iPad 3 has yet to be released and only rumours and speculation exist as to the features that will be found on the new tablet.

Ultimately, one must decide what is the most important use and price point that they are comfortable in. Also, whether or not they are "Apple heads" and want the ease of use that all Apple products have with one another. In other words, if you have an iMac, iPhone and iPod then it makes sense that you would consider the iPad first.

However, one should also consider the usage of the devices. If you are doing lots of typing and require more battery life then the Asus might be a better option as it includes the keyboard (purchased for $150 extra). If you are simply wanting a device to browse the internet, play music and read ebooks then either will do just fine.

Another consideration is the processor. The Asus has a new Quad Core Tegra processor which is lightning fast and can play games seamlessly and also can amount to lesser power usage as it is able to turn off cores not in use.

Again, it would be simply speculation to say whether or not the iPad 3 is going to have an equally strong processor at this point, but it is likely to have an increased power as this is one feature that is often upgraded along with a possible new screen and camera's.

In conclusion, it is a difficult choice that one will have to make to ensure that they end up with the right tablet. Preference, cost and function are definitely things that I would consider when about to purchase.

iPad 2 or iPad 3 - It's Time to Decide What Is Better

When Apple introduced the first iPad in 2010, the mobile device boasts a 9.7-inch LED-backlit full multitouch display capable of rendering typical desktop resolution. This revolution in Apple products led to the launch of the iPad 2 in March earlier this year. Receiving similar accolades as the first generation iPad, Apple decided to push the envelope further by announcing early on their plan to launch the iPad 3 very soon. Once launched, electronic consumers will have to decide either buying the iPad 2 or iPad 3. This scenario is similar to the situation when consumers had to choose between the iPhone 3G and 3GS (or the iPhone 3GS over the iPhone 4) because of overlapping availability.

By sorting out the features of the iPad-2 head to head with the expected features of the iPad-3, consumers will get a better idea on whether or not the third iPad will be worth the upgrade. Of course, it is worth noting that the iPad-2 took a serious leap from the original iPad. But whether the iPad-3 will bring in more significant improvements or not is a tough question to answer.

Foremost, the iPad 2 already integrated front-facing and rear-facing cameras capable of recording high-definition videos. But what it certainly lacks is a camera flash similar to that of the iPhone 4. Fans of the iPad are clamoring for this feature which will hopefully be incorporated into the iPad 3.

Another hardware upgrade almost certain to be included in the next iPad series installment is the retina display. Fans expected this type of display in the iPad 2 but were utterly disappointed. Apple should make up to this and may incorporate retina display into the iPad 3. Some rumors are even suggesting about the possibility of doubling up the resolution to 2048 by 1536 pixels.

One of the major improvements is the battery. The iPad3 will have a lighter and thinner battery. It is being produced by Simplo Tech Co and Dynapack International Corp. Many are reporting that this improvement may cause the price of the product to increase because the battery will cost 20 to 30% more than the iPad2 battery.

Instead of the traditional wired synchronization with the computer as implemented in the original iPad and the iPad 2, the iPad 3 is expected to sync content wirelessly with the host computer. This is already implemented in jailbroken devices and earned great approval among enthusiasts so that Apple has no reason not to enable this convenient feature.

Even though the iPad-2 was just released, in a state of constant technological advancement, Apple intends to make the iPad-3 the best tablet available. With important modifications, improvements, and new features, the iPad 3 will in fact be the best tablet out there.

Improving the battery, adding retina display, and making the tablet thinner and lighter will ensure that the iPad is the best tablet available. Now Apple needs to continue on the production and post-production path to make sure an early 2012 iPad 3 release date is definitely possible.

If Apple is going to integrate most of the significant features that consumers are clamoring for, then choosing either the iPad 2 or iPad 3 will no longer be a dilemma. As with the iPad 3 release date, the first quarter of 2012 is a confident estimate for the schedule.

iPad - The Technology Everyone Wants

Apple's iPad was designed and implemented to fill the space between smartphones and laptops, and PC tablet fans have embraced the iPad with enthusiasm. Apple marketers are now preparing advertising hype for the launch of the new iPad3 to include a slimmer product with higher resolution, longer battery life, and advanced iPad applications. Consumers and iPad application development teams are also hoping for the camera on the iPad3 to be greatly improved and consistent with the slimmer design.

Despite, most iPhone application development teams hoping for iPad3, in most likelihood Apple may launch an upgraded iPad2(S) with the latest technology. The screen resolution (4xs greater than is currently available) is causing problems and these problems will result in manufacturing delays in the launch of the iPad3. Retailers continue to acknowledge that the iPad is still the most popular tablet PC in production today and Apple really need not be in a hurry to launch a totally upgraded model.

iPad application development team working on iPad apps have expanded the original 5,000 made-for-iPad-apps to over 140,000 apps that include options for work, play and everything in between, and consumers are clamoring for more apps for the existing iPad. Trying to develop apps directly on the iPad has been elusive, but with constantly changing technology, codes can be edited and iPad applications can actually updated on the go.

In addition to the usual consumer of iPads and notebook PCs, specific specialty groups have begun to use this technology to make their lives more efficient. A recent invitation for iPad application development team from law enforcement agencies has urged developers to build iPad applications that will provide legal information. Crime statistics and accompanying graph apps would be invaluable. Mug shots, physical characteristics, alerts and criminal activities are also requests from law enforcement agencies. A few law enforcement apps are currently available, and iPad application development teams are working on bringing more legal apps to the iPad platform.

Mobile computing terminals found in police vehicles are invaluable, but when security officers need help, an iPad application can give instant information on medical and fire codes, police 10 codes, police 11 codes and scanner color codes. iPhone application developers have produced The Miranda Warning as an app that can be read on an iPad in the dark (back lighting), and the warning can be translated into a specific language. DUI Warning and Test Instructions is an app developed for the iPad and has the advantage of replacing implied-consent cards as well as providing a blood-alcohol percentage chart, and rules for properly handling DUI suspects.

"Give us mapping and GPS functions," clamor officers. "We also need the ability to review dispatch assignments, access calls and critical information, search and retrieve data during a field interview from our iPads." iPad development teams have been successfully working on apps that bring suspect pictures from state and local databases to the iPad screen for quick and accurate verification of suspects. When all is said and done, apps used by law enforcement personnel on an iPad would free up both traditional workstations and paperwork headaches. Officers would be able to receive complete information while away from vehicle laptops, work more efficiently and ultimately spend more time in the field providing public safety
